     After Hurricane Andrew devastated South Florida in 1992, LAG was the first to design and test exterior door assemblies strong enough to withstand hurricane force winds and meet the stringent Miami Dade building codes.   Since then, LAG has continued to refine and improve the hurricane rated products and has consistently offered the highest design criteria and the most options in the industry, including sizes to 10’ height, in-swing and out-swing doors,  transoms, sidelights and surrounds for use in residential and commercial structures.

    LAG doors are built from solid mahogany with no composites or veneers and use heavy steel bolts at all rail and stile connections.  All stile, rail and panel components are epoxy laminated and engineered to reduce distortion and panels are warranted to be ‘split thru proof’ for the life of the door.  This method of door construction is more difficult and labor-intensive than other methods, but the resulting resistance to flying debris sets the standard in the industry.
